Total Virus Protection (eller TotalVirusProtection, Total VirusProtection, TotalVirus Protection) er en uregerlig anti-spyware software. Total Virus Protection er en klon af XPVirusProtection, XP Virus Protection uregerlige anti-spyware programmer.
Normalt kan Total Virus Protection komme ind i brugerens system via en trojan, som kan slippe ind i systemet gennem sikkerhedshuller, gennem spam-mail eller det kan blive installeret af andet malware. Total Virus Protection vil generere falske systemadvarsler, falske skanningsrapporter og falske fejlbeskeder om ”infektionen” på brugerens computer for at narre og skræmme ham til at købe den ”fulde” version af Total Virus Protections software. Brugere bør hverken stole på eller købe Total Virus Protection, fordi det er uregerligt anti-spyware software som bør slettes så hurtigt som muligt!
